Gilroy Clinic Volunteers

Volunteers making it work!

Gilroy Rotacare has been growing steadily and has an amazing staff of volunteers. We are in need of additional volunteers to assist with a multitude of responsibilities such as advisory council, outreach staff, clinical providers including Doctors, Nurses, medical assistants and desperately needed bilingual Spanish interpreters.
Our clinic is proud to provide primary care services, diabetic classes, women’s health services along with partnering for other community resources .
Some of our outreach has included the Gilroy Garlic Festival which gives back to our clinic for the volunteer hours provided, Morgan Hill Summer fun in the park interacting with  the children in the community about healthy food choices and informing their parents about our services, and neighborhood outreach delivering flyers to the local neighborhoods.

We are in need of a multitude of skills to enhance our clinic and continue to provide much needed services in our community. If you would like to join our team please contact us at gilroyclinic@rotacarebayarea.org

New Classes to promote Diabetic Health & Wellness!

This program is made possible in part through a generous grant from

The Rotacare Gilroy clinic was excited to begin the new community classes for diabetes management. The class was a great success with the oversight of Lesley Allen, MSN-FNP and Claudia Mendivil, MPH.  The class covered various types of diabetes, signs, and symptoms, early detection and risks related to diabetes.  At the end of class, participants received glucometers and shown how to check their blood sugars at home.

This series of four classes will cover obesity, hypertension, healthy eating habits, and the importance of physical activity and weight management.  The importance of a medical home, as well proper management of diabetes, is emphasized through routine exams and treatment plans.

Those interested in attending the next series of classes, please contact our clinic at (408)676-3030 or healthed.gilroy@rotacarebayarea.org.
