Welcome Nurse Scholars!

RotaCare Daly City recently became a Clinical Placement site for Samuel Merritt University’s new RN to BSN Program.  All students in the program are fully licensed nurses returning to school to earn baccalaureate degrees.  As part of the program, two nurse scholars will participate in our weekly clinic, participate in community outreach events, and will be expected to propose public health interventions that are relevant to the local community and to the patients at RotaCare Daly City clinic.

In January, the clinic welcomed two nurse scholars of the RN to BSN program, Trudy Gastrock and Melanie Samson who both currently work in the Labor and Delivery Department of Kaiser San Francisco.  Trudy has previously worked in various units of Kaiser, including critical care, transitional care and medical surgical telemetry.  Both scholars have 13 years of experience as registered nurses.  We look forward to working with them in the coming months.
